Will there be any consultation on the quotation received?

After your quotation is ready, you will be contacted by a buySolar consultant.
A free consultation session will be provided to you to brief and explain the proposal.
The consultant will also cover the process involved for the entire flow of getting solar installed.

After the consultation, you may ask for a site assessment from the Supplier to get a final quotation.

What should I do if I am satisfied with a quotation?

First, you have to secure a site visit or site assessment with the Supplier.
During the site visit, you will be briefed and explained on the recommendation installation. Once you are satisfied and decided to proceed with next step, you may pay the deposit payment of RM2,000 for NEM application.

Final Quotation


What happens after the site visit?

During the site visit, you will be briefed and explained on the recommendation installation by the Supplier.

After the site visit, the supplier will prepare the final quotation based on the site visit and your needs or requirements. You may review the final quotation from the "My Quotation" section.

How do I proceed to the next step after I am satisfied with the Final Quotation submitted by the preferred supplier?

You may accept the Final Quotation to have a Job Order created for you.

The supplier will start the NEM application through SEDA. After obtaining NEM certificate, you may make the full payment to continue with the solar installation.

Do I need to start the solar installation immediately after getting the NEM approval?

No, you have 12 months from the NEM certification date to commence the installation process.

How do I ensure the Supplier will do a good job after the full payment is made before the installation?

buySolar will only release the payment to the supplier after you acknowledge that the solar installation is completed and in order.

How do I make a complaint if I am not happy with the services?

You may make your complaint(s) or report(s) of a supplier by leaving a message in the 'Contact Us' page.

My house is on 1-phase power, if I were to renovate my house and change it to 3-phase power, will the inverter be able to support both phases?

No, you will have to change the inverter to support 3-phase power.

In the future, if I want to upgrade the solar system size from 3kWp to 5kWp, what is the process? Is there any cost to upgrade?

The entire process flow and site assessment will repeat. Resubmission of the NEM application is required. It depends on the new scheme offered by SEDA at that particular time.

If I sell my house after solar installation and I do not want to remove the solar system from the house, can the NEM certificate be transferred to the new owner? What is the process? What is the cost involved? Does the scheme remains unchanged?

NEM certification can be transferred to new owner of the house by referring to SEDA.

RM10 per kWp will be charged as application fee for new owner (paid by new owner), and a certain amount will be charged as admin fee by the supplier.

NEM scheme remains the same.

If I want to remove the solar system and re-install it at my new house, what do I need to do with the NEM certification? What is the process? What is the cost involved? Does the scheme remains unchanged?

Customer needs to call buySolar Customer Service Center for solar panels relocation arrangement. Charges for panels relocation to new address will be applied. Customer will need to sign some documents, and those documents will be sent to SEDA for the update on your relocation.

NEM scheme remains the same.


Warranty and Maintenance


Is there a warranty for the service and solar system?

The warranty for the solar system depends on the warranty provided by the manufacturer. Each component might have different warranty terms.

All the warranty terms and conditions must be clearly stated in the quotation prepared by the supplier/contractor.

Is there insurance coverage for if the roof collapses after solar installation?

If the roof collapses after solar installation, it can be covered under Anora Agency’s Solar Pro Insurance Plan.

The entire system is insured but compensation will be for whatever is damaged only.

For example, if the inverter is not damaged, you will not be able to claim for the replacement of an inverter.
